Mediators Appointed to 6th Judicial District Mediation Roster
Deborah Goodpaster and Maureen Abramoski, mediators with the Mediation Center of Dutchess County, have been appointed to serve on the 6th Judicial District Roster for Child Permanency Mediation, which covers counties in the Southern Tier such as Broome, Tioga, Tompkins, among others.
Ms. Goodpaster and Ms. Abramoski, along with Bonnie Allen, Family Program Manager at the Mediation Center, completed 4 days of advanced training in Binghamton, New York provided by the New York State Office of Alternative Dispute and Resolution Programs. They were accepted into the training based on their extensive experience mediating for families. Child Permanency mediation provides a forum for the Department of Social Services and other stakeholders involved in a foster child’s life to create a permanent plan for the child’s future. Cases are under the supervision of and referred by Family Court in the 6th Judicial District. Deb Goodpaster said, 'I am honored to be appointed to the Child Permanency Mediation roster and look forward to the expansion of the program."
